Over the next couple of months we are going to be sharing some simple water-play ideas that can be be easily recreated at home to help keep little ones entertained, either in the bath or in the garden.

Here goes with week 1, Bath Paints
What you will need:
✔ 1 cup of white or clear bubble bath or body wash
✔ 4 tbsp of cornflour
✔ A few drops of food colouring
✔ Paint brushes and sponges
✔ A hooded towel to clean them up afterwards 😉
Step 1
Start by measuring out 4 teaspoons of cornflour and 1 cup of clear bubble bath or body wash
Step 2
Mix the cornflour into the bubble bath (this takes a bit of elbow grease for it to dissolve)
Step 3
Divide the mixture by the number of colours that you have - we used six - and then add a couple of drops of food colouring to each, giving it a good stir (*we recommend doing a stain test on the bath first just in case*)
Step 4
Then it’s time to get creative. Strip the kids off, pop them into an empty bath and give them the paint and paint brushes...
If you make more than you need, you can just put it in a lidded container and save it for later.
Step 5
Mucky paws...
..make for lots of fun!
Step 6
When they are all done, rinse the bath and give them a sponge to help clean up. You might find they love sponging the bath clean as much as the painting! Beware at this point, the water will turn murky as the colours mix!
Afterwards you can fill the bath as normal and they'll be ready to be wrapped up in a big hooded towel ready for a snuggle... I wonder where you could get one of those 😉
