Frequently asked questions

Are your bath treats safe for children?

Yes — all of our products have been tested for use by children aged 3 years and over, and are fully compliant with UK Cosmetic Product Safety Regulations.

Are they suitable for children with eczema and sensitive skin?

Our products haven't been specifically tested for eczema and sensitive skin, but we use high quality ingredients and make all our bath products ourselves so we know exactly what goes in them.

Reviews and feedback from parents of children with sensitive skin are overwhelmingly positive, but because all children (and sensitivities) are different, we recommend testing a small amount of product in the bath first. Our dust pouches are particularly good for this as you can control the amount of product used.

Do they stain the bath?

We use water-soluble dyes in our bath products which are approved for both cosmetic use and in food. The amount used in each product is tiny, and when dissolved in water is highly unlikely to cause any staining.

In addition to this, we include an emulsifier in our formulation which causes the cosmetic oils and the water-soluble dye to mix uniformly, and helps to prevent them from sticking to surfaces.

However, if a bath has an invisible layer of soap scum, body oils, or hard water mineral deposits such as limescale, the water-soluble dye could colour the surface residue giving the appearance of the bath being stained.

Another scenario is that bath surfaces can become microscopically porous over time due to age, the use of acidic cleaners or micro-abrasions from cleaning. When the gloss glaze is compromised, pigments may settle into the damaged or worn surface. To prevent this, it is recommended to avoid using abrasive cream cleaners or scouring pads, as these can scratch enamel surfaces.

Will they stain my child's skin?

The water-soluble dyes used in our bath products will not usually stain or damage your child's skin.

However it is important to make sure they do not touch bath bombs or rocks while they are fizzing as this can cause temporary staining. If this does occur, wash the affected area well with soap and the colour will start to fade.

Do your products contain nuts?

We use Apricot Kernel Oil, which is not classified as a nut oil. No other nut products are included in any of our products

What is the shelf life of your bath treats?

Our products last for 12 months when stored correctly. For bath bombs, rocks and dust, they are best stored in a dark place where they will not get too hot or too cold as the colours can fade when exposed to light for long periods. Bubble baths will last for 12 months from the date of opening.
