Our story
A family business
Hooded Owls began in 2013 with a simple parenting problem.
Founder Charlotte had two young children who had outgrown their baby hooded towels — but she couldn’t find larger ones anywhere. She loved the cosy practicality of a hood after bath time, yet everything available felt too small or uninspiring.
When she mentioned this to her mum, the reply was simple: “Leave it to me.”
A few weeks later, two beautifully made hooded towels arrived - generously sized, fluffy, and finished with playful trims. Friends saw them, loved them and began asking for their own. And just like that, Hooded Owls was born.
Growing as they did
What started at Charlotte’s kitchen table quickly grew into a much-loved collection of generously sized, premium hooded towels designed to make bath time fun and end in warm, cosy cuddles.
But Charlotte believed bath time itself could be even more magical.
Inspired by the importance of imaginative and sensory play for children, she began creating themed bath treats designed to transform everyday baths into colourful adventures. As these became more popular, she expanded the idea to create a range of magical potion kits that were both bath-friendly and perfect for playtime too.
Today, our full product range brings together hand-made bath treats, potion kits and bespoke hooded towels with imaginative themes and joyful colours, to help children (and their parents) look forward to both bath time and playtime.
Because childhood is full of little moments, and we believe those moments deserve a little magic.
