We’ve purchased a number of potion sets over the last couple of years and found them to be wonderfully entertaining. This one was no different! The kids love the names on the pots and have loads of fun using the kits. We get a good number of uses out of them (unless we turn our backs on the 3 year old as he likes to tip the entire pots in)! Would highly recommend any potion kit from Hooded Owls!

Ordered for my daughter and was absolutely delighted with it. It is so beautifully and neatly presented both in the box, and in all of the individual jars of ingredients. So much thought and creativity has obviously gone into creating the fun names of the ingredients, the colours, what they do when mixed together etc. The quality of both the ingredients and also the tools that come in the set really surprised me, they are fantastic. My five year old and her older sibling absolutely loved it. I ordered an additional smaller set at the same time to give as a gift, which also looks just as good. I will definitely be ordering more to give as gifts to my children’s friends, and buying the seasonal sets which I remember seeing advertised. Thank you and well done on a brilliant idea and product. We love it!

My daughter was beaming with excitement using this in the bath today. Was a big hit, especially as she is really into Halloween and spooky things. She loved feeling like she was making potions and seeing the colours mix and the mixture fizzing over the cauldron. Really cute set with good materials. I’m sure I’ll be purchasing a top up and I’d consider this as a gift for someone else.

This is must if your child loves making potions in the bath and will save you’re shower gel and shampoo being used the only problem now is trying to get them out the bath. friendly to the skin and no marks or slime left in the bath afterwards. It’s must for any budding scientist, witch or wizard.

I have ordered hooded towels from this wonderful company a few times. The quality is top notch. They are soft and snuggly, great for after the bath or swimming. The towels wash and dry well. On one occasion I had an issue with the popper and the customer service was excellent. I couldn’t fault them. After having our little girl a month ago, we ordered another towel for her. I’m sure we will order more in the near future! I would highly recommend Hooded Owls…..

It’s a lovely idea and my daughter enjoyed it but we were very disappointed by the unpleasant smell of all of the bath products which was exactly the same for all six jars despite being different colours/flavours-I expected them to smell yummy and make the bathroom feel exotic like bath bombs etc do. I won’t repurchase it, I’ll crush up bath bombs from somewhere else and refill the jars so we enjoy the smell.

Just to explain – we currently don’t add any fragrance to our potions as we want them to be as gentle and skin-friendly as possible for all children, including those with sensitive skin and allergies. We do take your feedback onboard and may reconsider this in future. Some of our customers like to add in a pot of our bath rocks that are fragranced to enhance the sensory experience of potion making!
I bought the jumbo towel in turquoise for my granddaughter. It's really soft and she loves it! Good communication and prompt arrival.

Our grandson enjoyed this birthday gift from us but we found it dissapointing in that it could and should have been much more exciting and education. I studied chemistry to quite a high level and this may have inspired me to come up woth my own potion box

Our potion kits are designed to be open-ended and encourage free play, letting children take the lead with their own creativity, imagination, and storytelling rather than following a set “experiment” structure. While they’re not intended to be a formal science kit, they’re a springboard for imaginative play - where little ones can invent their own magical recipes, mix colours, and explore textures at their own pace.
It sounds like your background in chemistry would make for some great potion-making ideas! We do love hearing how our kits inspire different approaches, and your grandson is lucky to have you adding your own twists to the experience.

My girls have loved bath time and creating the potions. There is quite a bit in the containers so a little goes a long way. The only downside is the recipes- I picked the original starter set as thought it would be good to have the recipes but there was only 1 included in the pack. Would be nice if there were more.
Will definitely get the refill back when it runs out.
